Friday Favourites

As its April Fools day today, we thought we’d get into the spirit of things and bring together some of the best pranks we’ve come across today…

1. Google + Helvetica = Comic Sans madness

Google have gone Comic sans crazy today. If you simply type the word Helvetica into your google search bar the font on your continuing search results will all be in the tragic Comic Sans. This topic has already trended on Twitter a few times today with a battle for most popular spot between the words; Comic Sans, Helvetica and Google. My money is on Helvetica.

2. Groupon Royal Wedding Invite.

Groupon have sacrificed making any sales today in substitute for an april fools prank. The usual Deal of the day features what was a chance to bag yourself two tickets for the Royal Wedding for just £8. The deal would have included entry to the after-party and a glass of house wine each at Westminster Abbey. The site also features this great customer review “I went to Buckingham Palace a few weeks ago and although it was good to see a London landmark that’s recognised worldwide, I think it looks better on TV and in photographs. It’s no Whitehouse!”

3. Galliano to design for Asda.

The LDN fashion blog came up with this great prank article claiming that the shamed ex-Dior ace John Galliano was now the chief designer of their ‘George’ clothing range at Asda. Galliano was said to be revamping the famous ‘George’ line with three new capsule collections called ‘John’, ‘Paul’ and ‘Ringo’. Tres witty!
